About the role
The Event Studio is seeking a Senior Event Manager to lead our talented project teams in delivering flawless event execution for our industry-leading corporate clients.
At TES, our work is dynamic, creative, precise and highly collaborative. As a senior manager, you will work on several projects simultaneously and need to balance internal, operational execution with responsive and strategic client focus. You will serve as a central hub of team and project management and must be able to proactively anticipate and strategically plan for a variety of complex event scenarios.
This role involves responsibilities for client and project team management, event design and execution and internal operational planning and budget management. You should understand how to work with and get the best from project teams that include internal talent, external vendors, venues and clients.
Role requirements
Our ideal candidate has a unique ability to stay calm and organized under pressure – perhaps even get better when things get busy. You will understand collaboration is crucial to success and have a drive for providing exceptional customer service. Prior event industry experience is crucial as is the ability to come to every situation with a problem-solving mindset.
Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple demands under pressure, effectively lead teams (including up to 5 direct reports), interact with senior management and high-level corporate clients, and handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity. Candidates must also be prepared to mentor and coach team members through their responsibilities, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for the project’s success and are performing at the expected level for their role. Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of relevant event industry experience.
Project development and management experience with a proven track record of successfully executing high-touch corporate events.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail — beyond what others might consider normal.
Resourceful, creative, and curious with strong analytical skills.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
Independent self-starter who can prioritize and drive deliverables to execution with minimal supervision, on time, and on budget.
Proactive & flexible with an ability to problem-solve and model grace under pressure.
High ethical standards; experience dealing with sensitive information and situations.

In this role, you will act as an internal leader, managing project teams and working to grow and optimize team talent. You will be a strategic and proactive force in understanding project needs and developing efficient and effective strategies to achieve both client and internal TES goals. You will regularly work closely with TES leadership on team assignments and resource planning. As part of this role you will maintain detailed billing and expense tracking and manage budgetary planning for both client and The Event Studio budgets including management of all post-event financial follow-up and budget reconciliation.
Client Management
The quality of the TES team and our flawless level of execution means that many of our clients are repeat clients. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships and regularly interact with clients during the planning process and onsite including acting as the client point of contact. In this role, you will be expected to interpret client needs and goals and work to translate them into achievable project plans. You will prepare and give regular client updates while working closely with client counterparts to establish and maintain productive two-way communication and keep both internal and client-facing project documentation updated.
Lifecycle Event Management
This is the core of our work and an incredible opportunity for an experienced event professional to operate at the highest level of strategic corporate events. You will have the chance to design and deliver events from conception to delivery and grow your professional network with the world's leading vendors.
The majority of your role will be to lead, plan and execute complex events that meet and exceed our client’s goals. You will ideate creative ideas and event concepts that are fresh, unique and relevant. You will manage the complete event lifecycle from kickoff through onsite execution and post-event follow-up, including logistics, planning, budgeting, timelines, and team assignments for multiple simultaneous projects. As a senior event expert, you will take the lead on required research and initiate the Request For Proposal process with all event vendors. You will be expected to anticipate needs and make recommendations for solutions that best fit the client’s event goals and budgets. As part of this role, you will manage and develop our extensive network of vendors and ensure that they deliver services on brand and on budget. Onsite you will be the lead at delivering flawless execution and triaging and problem-solving issues and needs as they arrive. As a leader you will guide and manage internal and onsite teams, including vendors and venue staff, from precon to load-out. You will also be expected to nurture and develop talent and provide guidance to team members on all aspects of project and event execution.

Qualifications

Proven management experience in multiple event planning workstreams, including but not limited to venue management, food & beverage, registration and attendee communication, production, printed materials, rentals & decor, etc.

Event Managers serve as an essential team contributor and support for all standard operating procedures and project workflows. You should be a proactive force in understanding project needs and delivering efficient and effective results that achieve both project needs and internal TES goals. Project-related responsibilities include: overseeing budget tracking for specific events/workstreams, including managing event-related travel expense reports according to company policy & timelines; manage project and team scheduling and track communications with clients; proactively manage timelines for each event, being able to anticipate needs and plan accordingly; support senior TES team members as needed.
Client Management
We work with industry-leading corporate clients. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships and regularly interact with clients during the planning process and onsite during event execution. You will regularly prepare and provide updates to clients and track relevant project milestones and details to support TES leadership and provide professional client service.
Event Execution
This role is an incredible opportunity for committed event professionals to grow and learn while working on the highest level of strategic corporate events. The majority of your role will be to strategically plan, coordinate and execute complex events working alongside our senior event team. You will support key areas of event planning and execution, from kick-off to completion, including vendor research, contract review & negotiation, support for the RFP process, vendor management, speaker management and support, menu selection, venue coordination, and execution support, including participating in our onsite event teams. You should be comfortable taking a leadership role internally with team members and externally, with clients and vendors as needed, and approach all situations with a problem-solving, creative mindset.
